Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the cabinet secretary for Interior and national administration, is one of 50 global trailblazers up for the 2022 African Trailblazers Award from Market Analysis Africa Magazine.

The first and only Kenyans on the list are Kindiki, Catherine Mathugu, James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Group, Mary Njoki, CEO of Glass House PR, and IT businesswoman Nelly Cheboi.

The Interior CS has received recognition from the Nigerian publication, among other things, for sponsoring more than twelve measures in the Senate while he was a senator representing Tharaka Nithi.


According to the magazine, the County Distribution of Revenue Bill, 2013, which intended to clarify the division of money among county governments, was a significant part of his legislative legacy.

The former senator is also praised for increasing border patrols and watching for banditry assaults and the spread of illegal weapons in Kenya.
