Kenyans have been guaranteed that Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen will restart all road projects abandoned by the Jubilee administration as he rebuked detractors.
Murkomen referenced the projects that then-Deputy President William Ruto had started, alleging that they had been sabotaged due to the conflict with his boss, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He was reacting to Sam Atandi, a member of Parliament for Alego Usonga, who seemed to be criticizing him for President Ruto's Thursday decision to reopen a road in Nyandarua.
Murkomen declared, "Mheshimiwa, we are resuming all the road projects that the Handshake administration abandoned, particularly those left because the then-DP Ruto began them.

Atandi criticized the action on his social media platforms, calling it irrelevant.

On Thursday, Ruto officially opened the 55 km Captain-Ndemi-Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru and Access to Karima Girls High School roads, a project he also began in 2018 but received criticism for.
Kenyans responded quickly, posting his tweet from 2018 that stated he had already started construction on the road.
Although several initiatives he started while serving as vice president were included in the government's program, the head of state defended his actions by claiming they were purposefully refused the money.
According to a statement from State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, President Ruto pledged to finish all unfinished projects, including roads, during the election campaigns last year.
Today, it is clear that the people, the economy, and Kenya were harmed by the creators of these plans that they believed would annoy President Ruto.
