A mountain of sensitive documents stolen from the U.S. military's closely guarded registry has put Kenya amid a potential diplomatic crisis since they appear to show that at least one U.N. high-ranking official strongly distrusts President William Ruto.

According to the Pentagon leaks, one of the most powerful nations in the world may have been eavesdropping on senior U.N. officials, a collection of documents released by an unnamed guy in his mid-20s who had worked in a military base.

Starting last year, the unnamed guy allegedly began leaking the data in batches, publishing them in a Discord social media group where most users were unaware of what was being leaked.

In the over 500 GB document collection, a private conversation between Antonio Guterres, the U.N. Secretary-General, and his deputy Amina Mohammed in mid-February suggests that the U.S. may have been snooping on the two bosses for an unknown amount of time.

Ms Mohammed is accused of having told Mr Guterres, her boss, that President William Ruto is ruthless and she does not trust him in one of the discussions that appear to have occurred after the December 2022 African Leaders conference in Washington, D.C.

Furthermore, whether the exchange between the two coworkers was professional or just chit-chat is still being determined.

However, the remarks have exposed a potential paper-thin relationship between Kenya and the U.N. after Dr Ruto assumes power following the presidential election on August 9, 2022.

The leaks have also shown that Western countries supplied special military fighters to help Kyiv and that Ukraine may have prepared to attack Russia during their struggle.

The data leak also shows that Egypt had secretly intended to produce 40,000 rockets for Moscow to support Russia.

It also shows that South Korea was reluctant to give in to U.S. efforts to arm Ukraine because it feared offending Russia.
