Parents of Nyandarua High School have agreed to fund the Kes40 million dining hall expansion to accommodate all students.

Every parent will pay Kes5000 more than the usual fees for the next three years for the initiative.

The current dining hall was built 30 years ago with a capacity of 300 students only.

However, the student population is now 900, prompting the need to expand the facility to accommodate the growing student population.

The decision was arrived at during the prize-giving day at school by the Lands cabinet secretary Zachary Njeru who brought Kes5 million from the Ministry of Education in cheque and Kes1 million cash from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

On his part, CS contributed Kes100,000.
