A military transport plane operated by the Kenya Airforce brought 39 students from Sudan to Kenya.
The 19 Kenyans, 19 Somalis, and one Saudi were welcomed by Aden Duale, the defense cabinet secretary.
Students from the International University of Sudan make up the entire group of evacuees.

Duale has praised these individuals for making such a long journey and expressed gratitude to everyone who made their moves possible.
The Kenyan government, he continued, is dedicated to making sure that Kenyans returning from Sudan do so safely.
All parties were advised by Duale to keep registering through the shared contacts and hotlines.
He asserted that 3,000 Kenyans have been located in the troubled nation. Just a few hours after their arrival, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the warring factions in Sudan had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire.
According to Blinken, a 48-hour period of rigorous negotiation was followed by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The cease-fire would begin on April 24 at 00:00.
