Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki told Senators on Wednesday that they had detained a key bandit commander assisting them in unmasking the complicated web threatening Sugata Valley villagers.

Kindiki assured that the perpetrators of the horrible atrocities would be arrested and prosecuted shortly when he was in the Senate plenary to answer questions.

He stated that he wanted to assure the House that very soon they would have a higher high arraignment of bandits' command, whether civil commanders or politicians and that we wanted to establish a case that would succeed in court.

Kindiki told the Senators that, despite occasional bandit attacks, the area's security operations are reaping fruit, as they have recovered stolen animals and repulsed numerous planned attacks.

He also stated that any Kenyans displaced due to the ongoing security operation in the area, particularly in Samburu County, will be resettled.
