Police now want to imprison Pastor Ezekiel Odero for another 30 days to conclude their investigations.

Pastor ezekiel was arrested on Thursday, and authorities claim there is credible evidence linking him to the victims discovered at the Shakahola farm in Malindi, Kilifi County. They said that some followers of his ministry have died in their desire for divine intervention.

The Police said in a miscellaneous application filed on Friday that intelligence information established many deaths within the premises of New Life Prayer Centre and Church that were recorded at Kilifi Police Station between last year and this year.

Pastor Ezekiel is being investigated for fraud, money laundering, murder, assisted suicide, radicalization, crimes against humanity, and child maltreatment.

Court papers filed by the Police read that Police officers have collected several burial permits issued to individuals whose names and telephone numbers have been disclosed in these records.

However, the investigators are concerned that the respondents will interfere with potential witnesses before deciding whether the deceased were released to kin for interment or buried at Shakahola under unusual circumstances.

On Thursday, April 27, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New International Life Church in Kilifi was apprehended on allegations of being an accomplice to Pastor Paul Mackenzie.

Coast Regional Commissioner Onyancha confirmed the arrest at a press conference and stated that Odero's church had been closed. The death toll in the shakahola massacre has reached 98 and counting.
