A recruitment and human resource solution company, Brighter Monday has called upon all employers to embrace inclusivity to drive growth during a pre-labour day breakfast meeting held at Karen Country Club.

The session brought together several HR practitioners and C-Suite Managers to discuss “Improving Diversity and Inclusivity at the Workplace”.

It was timely given the approaching Labour Day festivities, emphasising the significance of labour rights and social justice.

According to recent data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate in Kenya is 7.7%, with people with disabilities suffering the worst.

During the event, three eminent speakers shared their insights and experiences on diversity and inclusivity.

Speaking on "Diversity and Inclusion at the Workplace - Gender" and emphasising the need for more women in leadership roles and the significance of fostering a gender-inclusive workplace Dorcas Nderitu, co-founder of Women in HR.

On his part, Daima Trust Limited Executive Director James Maina focussed on the challenges that people with disabilities face in the workplace and the importance of creating an environment that is accessible and supportive.

Crystal Asige, a Nominated Senator, spoke on “How Companies Can Leverage Government to Drive Change within their Organisations & More”. She discussed the role of government in promoting diversity and inclusivity and shared examples of how companies can work with the government to drive positive change.

The event also allowed the HR fraternity to glimpse revolutionary talent-matching solution features by BrighterMonday that will soon be launched.

These new features will help reduce hiring time through an AI-driven candidate ranking solution and a recommendation engine to trigger quality talent to apply for the listed positions.
