Samantha Miller's wedding day should have been one of the best days of her life. But, just five hours after saying "I do," the 34-year-old bride was killed by an alleged drunken driver as she left her wedding reception in Folly Beach, South Carolina, on Friday night.

According to a GoFundMe post, Miller was riding in a golf cart-style vehicle with her husband, Aric Hutchinson and two others when the motorist hit them, causing the cart to roll numerous times.

According to the public safety director for Folly Beach, a coastal village near Charleston, three other passengers were injured, two critically, including Miller's spouse.

The golf cart-style vehicle, styled with cans and a "just married" sign, "was damaged beyond recognition, and it was on its side," according to Gilreath. According to him, first responders attempted to resuscitate Miller, but she died.

According to Annette Hutchison's GoFundMe post, the crash threw the cart over 100 yards. According to her, her son had many fractured bones, a brain injury, and at least one reconstructive operation.

"I was given Aric's wedding ring in a bag made of plastic at the hospital, five hours after Sam put it on his finger and they recited each other their vows," his mother wrote. "Aric has just lost the love of his life."

As of Monday, the burial and medical expenses campaign had raised more than $183,000.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office states that Miller died due to blunt force injuries.

According to online court documents, the defendant, Jamie Lee Komoroski, aged 25, was charged with one count of brutal homicide and three charges of felony DUI resulting in grave bodily harm. According to Gilreath, her vehicle was speeding at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.

In South Carolina Legislature, low-speed vehicles can travel on highways with a speed limit of 35 mph or less. Gilreath stated that the newlywed couple's automobile was legally on the road that night.
