The Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) was the scene of chaos this afternoon as members of the County Assembly held their National Inaugural Congress. The agitated MCAs chased away the Permanent Secretary for Devolution Teresia Mbaika and refused to let her address them, claiming they did not know who sent him.
The situation became even more tense as Azimio Blogger Robert Alai attempted to calm the situation by urging the MCAs to remain peaceful. His efforts were in vain after he mentioned that GSU officers would be called in if they did not comply.

"Let me remind you, there are some fights that are not for chest-thumping; if we begin chest-thumping, they will bring us GSU's," Robert Alai.
This incident highlights the strained relationship between government officials and MCAs. MCAs have been demanding accountability and transparency from government officials, especially in the use of development funds.
However, such confrontations are not the solution to the problems at hand. Dialogue and mutual understanding between the two parties are essential to ensuring the effective delivery of services to the public.
The pressure from the MCA's became too much for Robert Alai to handle, and he was forced to come down from the stage as they made their way towards him, demanding that he steps down.
