President William Ruto has cancelled his planned tour to Kisii County this weekend until further notice.

Ruto was expected to join other believers for a thanksgiving service at the Kisii Deliverance Church on Sunday.

Local leaders had been invited for the thanksgiving service and later stopover at the popular Capital Roundabout in Kisii town.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu sent out a message from an aide to politicians from the region on Tuesday confirming the Commander in Chief would visit the county.

However, according to a politician involved in planning the visit, the President allegedly cancelled the tour on Tuesday night over undisclosed reasons.

“The President has suddenly cancelled the trip until further notice,” he said.

This comes after leaders from the region raised concerns that Kisii and Nyamira Counties have been left out of the top government jobs.

President William Ruto is currently on a state visit to South Korea.
