Security services in Nyahururu and its vicinity have increased their efforts to apprehend those responsible for the illicit brew.
On Tuesday, about 10,000 litres of Kangara beer were seized. The brew had been buried in containers at a Maina village house.
According to the local authority, security personnel acting on a tip-off from public members could confiscate and destroy the brew, led by Nyahururu Deputy County Commissioner Muthike Ndambuki and Maina location Chief Joseph Muraya.
However, the suspects involved in the trade avoided the police net.
Ndambuki expressed regret that the drink appeared to have been covered with filthy rags, whose purpose was unclear, and that the brew was meant for sale to unwary clients.

He expressed regret that the illegal drink was being distributed to young people who should be in school or performing useful things.
Ndambuki called on local communities to work with the government to eradicate the vice.
Area chief Joseph Muraya Waithaka reiterated his remarks, challenging villagers to provide information that could lead to the arrest of those behind the trafficking.
While citizens applaud the government's commitment to combating the production and selling of illicit liquor, they want the government to promote other activities, such as the "Kazi mtaani program", to help young people get profitable ventures instead of engaging in engaging in engaging in alcohol consumption.
