In Kagumo, Kirinyaga County, a newborn baby was rescued from a public toilet.
According to Fire Brigade Officer John Kiama, they hurried to the location after residents raised the alarm.
"We rushed to Kagumo after residents called for help." "Fortunately, the baby was still alive," Kiama explained.
The fire department rescued the baby from a rental house's latrine.

"The exercise was successful because locals joined hands with the rescuers," resident Mary Wambui stated.
The infant was transported to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital for treatment.
"We took care of the baby and are now monitoring him." "He's responding well to treatment," stated a doctor at the facility.
