Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been named the most excellent governor in the country. Politrack Africa studied the governor's performance over the last eight months since she took office.
Despite the multiple instances that followed her soon after being sworn in as Meru's first governor, Governor Mwangaza topped the list with a rating of 53.7%.
Abdulswamad Nassir of Mombasa came in second with 52.2%.
Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata finished third with 50.7 per cent, while Abdi Hassan Guyo of Isiolo and Wesley Kipyegon Rotich of Elgeyo-Marakwet tied at 49.8 per cent.

Only six of the seven female governors elected in August 2022 reached the top 20 performing governors list.
Following Ms Mwangaza, Gladys Wanga of Homabay came in sixth with 49.3 per cent, while Susan Kihika of Nakuru followed in eighth with 47.9 per cent.
Cecily Mbarire, Embu's first female governor, finished 13th with 46.2 per cent, while Anne Waiguru of Kirinyaga finished 16th with 44.9 per cent.
Fatuma Achani of Kwale was the penultimate female governor on the list, ranking 18th with 44.2%.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti should have been included on the list. Mutahi Kahiga, Governor of Nyeri, was ranked 20th with 43.6%. However, all 20 governors scored higher than 43%.
After only 112 days in office, Mwangaza survived an impeachment motion. The governor was impeached by 67 county assembly members (MCAs).
Mwangaza was accused of nepotism, illegal meetings, illegal dismissals, incitement, harassment, defamation, and misbehaviour in appointing County Executive Committee members and violating public finance management regulations by the MCAs.
However, the 11-member committee, led by Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale, stated that the claims needed to be established and cautioned MCAs nationwide to organize similar actions against elected governors.
"The MCAs should learn from this." They should not believe they will be removed if they wake up and determine that a governor should be removed. "They are referring the matter to the Senate, which is a sober upper chamber, not to imbeciles," he explained.
