In relation to the Monica Kimani murder case, media personality Jackie Maribe refuted any involvement in the crime, stating in court that she only became aware of the victim's death while reading the news. She asserted that she had never met or had any contact with the deceased businesswoman.

Additionally, Jackie claimed that she spent the night of the murder at the Royal Media Services offices conducting interviews before later going out with friends, including Mike Sonko, until 4 am.

Meanwhile, Jowie, the other suspect in the case, has denied any knowledge of Monica Kimani or being present at her apartment on the day she was killed.

According to a previous testimony by Jonathan Limo, an investigative officer, Jowie's phone was traced to the same location where Monica Kimani lived at the time of her murder, specifically along Dennis Pritt Road. Limo also reported to the court that Jowie's phone records showed he had last communicated with the victim on September 1st, 2018.

Similarly, Jackie's phone was also traced to Dennis Pritt Road on the day in question. Both Jowie and Jackie are facing charges related to the murder of the businesswoman in 2018.

In addition to her phone being traced to the location of the murder, media personality Jackie Maribe's involvement in the case was further compounded by the discovery of her car at the crime scene. This direct link to the case was significant since Jackie was in a relationship with Jowie, the primary suspect in the case at the time.

Following these developments, both Jackie and Jowie were arrested and charged in connection with the murder. Jackie was later released on bail.

After Monica's murder, Jowie allegedly shot himself and reported to the police that he had been attacked by a gang while on his way to pick up Jackie from work.

The Monica Kimani murder case had a significant impact on media personality Jackie Maribe's life, leading to her termination from her job as a TV presenter at Citizen Television and causing her to trend for weeks.

Initially, Jowie was denied bail, but he was eventually released in March 2020. In an interview with Jalangó, Jowie shared that he had become a Christian and stopped drinking. He also expressed disappointment at how his supposed friends had abandoned him during his difficult times.

In contrast, despite losing her job, Jackie received immense support from her family, friends, and fellow media personalities. Her father, in particular, emerged as a hero during the court proceedings for standing by her side and providing her with unwavering support.

Regarding the relationship between Jackie Maribe and Jowie, the media personality clarified in a previous interview that they had actually broken up long before Jowie was incarcerated.

Jackie made this statement in response to Jowie's claim that their breakup occurred while he was in prison. Furthermore, she expressed regret about being associated with Jowie at all.

"This man was that person for me. The one you feel like if I ever had any regrets, this is it, I don't believe in regrets but if regret was a person that would be it," she said.

Before Jowie's imprisonment and the criminal charges against them, the two had been engaged to be married
