Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has broken the Guinness World Record for the "longest cooking marathon by an individual."

On Monday morning, the 27-year-old cook broke the 87-hour-45-minute record set by now-former Guinness World Record holder Lata Tondon.

Hilda, who entered the race on Thursday at precisely 4 p.m., went on to cook hundreds of meals and serve thousands of clients over an unprecedented four-day marathon.

Despite having already smashed the record, Hilda is still going strong, aiming to cook for 96 hours (9 hours longer than she had initially planned), breaking a new world record as the first human on the planet to do so.

Hilda worked for over 88 hours, only taking a 30-minute break and continuing with her objective while standing and sleeping.

The famous restauranteur has received a flood of support from Nigerian government officials, celebrities, priests, and other well-meaning Nigerians, many of whom have flocked to the Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos she has been cooking to show their support.

Hundreds of admirers braved a severe downpour in the early hours of Monday morning only to watch her cook and cheer her on.

Notable celebrities, including Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Charles Okocha, and Tiwa Savage, descended to the Lagos cooking location to support and cheer Hilda on.

Burna Boy shared the photo on Twitter, writing, "Go Hilda. We're pulling for you to smash that record. And I believe the meal is going to die sweet!"
