The intended charges against Jimmy Wanjigi, his wife, and four others have been withdrawn by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). This comes after the prosecution informed the court that they would be witnesses in another case in which 11 people were charged with the disputed land.

The anticipated charge sheet included conspiracy to commit a felony, fabrication of a title deed for a plot of land in Westlands, and uttering a fraudulent document.

Wanjigi did not respond to the charges, instead petitioning the Supreme Court for an injunction to halt his prosecution.

"The court has considered the prosecution's request to withdraw this case." After reviewing the evidence, it has been stated that the DPP has chosen to charge 11 other accused persons in a separate case and dismiss the charges against the individuals named above. As a result, I will grant the application," declared Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
