A press briefing held in Nairobi this evening resulted in laughter as Honorable Raila Odinga found himself compelled to address his relationship with President William Ruto, particularly in light of recent events.

Concerns arose within Raila's Azimio allies after he was seen meeting with the president on two occasions, and photographs surfaced showing them enjoying a football match together just a few days ago on Sunday.

To dispel any misconceptions within his party and ensure clarity, Raila Odinga took the opportunity to set the record straight, explaining his stance and intentions regarding his interactions with President Ruto. The light-hearted atmosphere during the press briefing suggests a shared moment of amusement amid the need for clarification.

During the press briefing, Honorable Raila Odinga clarified that his intention was not to meet with President Ruto during their time together on those specific days.

He explained that his sole purpose was to watch the derby match between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, and any coincidental encounters with the president were unplanned. Raila emphasized that his focus was solely on the football event and that he did not have any ulterior motives for the meetings.

"We just met there by chance at Kasarani and we watched the tournament together. We did not invite each other (laughter). The following day there was the mashemeji derby and I was going there because am the patron of Gor Mahia," said honorable Raila Odinga.
