Faith Njeri Harrison was put forth by President William Ruto on May 16, 2023, for the job of Principal Secretary.

She was proposed for the position of Performance Management Specialist at the State Department's Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

Ms Faith Njeri Harrison and her driver were detained in April 2019 after it was claimed they owned counterfeit US dollars worth Sh 67,000. According to Nairobi News, Special Crimes Unit police apprehended Ms Harrison and her driver, Mr Harrison Kungu, in Parklands along Mpaka Road while travelling in a double-cabin car with Government of Kenya license plates rather than those belonging to county governments.

They were transported to Capitol Hill Police Station, where they were accused of illegally possessing 670 documents that looked like US $100 bills.

She was also charged with transporting false money outside her apartment with the intent to utilize it for fraud. Conversely, Mr Kun'gu was accused of using improper license plates on a county vehicle.

According to Nairobi News, Ms Njeri Harrison stated that she had just finished a meeting with the Controller of Budget in Nairobi and was en route to Bruce House on business before going to the Holiday Inn.

They were told to stop as they left the Holiday Inn by armed individuals who then forced them into two different automobiles. Even when authorities discovered another Sh 50,000 in her handbag, she claimed to have found the 670 fake American dollars on the car seat.

The public's uproar over the emergence of con artists defrauding locals and foreigners everywhere led to their arrest. The two were released after contesting the charges on a Sh 1,000,000 bond with a Sh 1,000,000 surety or a Sh 200,000 cash bail.
