The EALA MP Kanini Kega's decision to dismiss him from the party has drawn criticism from Jeremiah Kioni, secretary general of the Jubilee Party. In his remarks on Friday, Kioni reminded Kega that former President Uhuru Kenyatta had supported both his nomination and campaign for the EALA.


Kioni suggested that instead of ejecting party members, Kega should consider establishing his own political party.


“If you want to leave your party, not just Jubilee but also ODM, Wiper, and the rest, and you believe it is greener within Kenya Kwanza, go back to the people and have a by-election,” he urged.

Following the announcement by Kanini Kega, it was confirmed that Jeremiah Kioni and Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe had indeed been expelled. The decision to expel Kioni and Murathe, as well as to suspend Gichohi, was approved by the National Executive Council, based on the recommendations put forth by the disciplinary committee.

Kega stated that the disciplinary team found Kioni and Murathe guilty of the charges levied against them.
