Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened the Jubilee Party's hotly contested National Delegate Conference (NDC).

Delegates were seen flooding into the Ngong Racecourse grounds in Nairobi on Monday morning, wearing red scarfs and hats emblazoned with the party's logo, according to videos obtained by Citizen Digital.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's group relocated its meeting from its original location in Bomas of, Kenya on Friday after learning that the site is undergoing renovations that began on May 16 and are anticipated to last eight weeks.

According to Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, Uhuru is scheduled to preside over the special NDC.

This comes against a fractious leadership battle in the party, with groups from East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega and former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni squabbling over who sits at the party's helm.

Kioni and MP Kega are battling for control within the party, with Kioni allegedly unwilling to relinquish his position as party Secretary-General to make room for MP Kega.

On February 9, the Jubilee Party's National Executive Council announced a move, replacing Kioni with Kega. The Registrar of Political Parties authorized the amendments, but the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal overturned them.

Kioni, along with the party's Vice Chairperson David Murathe and National Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi, had been suspended for their conduct of the political outfit's business.

During a thanksgiving service on the grounds of Isiolo Boys Secondary School on Sunday, MP Kega confirmed that there would be no (NDC) meeting and that any assembly convened on Monday would be purely political.

"As Jubilee's Secretary General, I regret to inform you that there will be no NDC meeting tomorrow." "We'll call the meeting when the time comes," Kega stated.

Nominated MP Sabina Chege stated that Uhuru should avoid political matters instead of focusing on his retirement, referring to the NDC meeting.

"There will be no meeting tomorrow, and that position expired six months ago, and we are now in the eighth month." We will convene a formal meeting from the headquarters."
