Pastor Ezekiel Odero can now sigh relief after the courts unfrozen his bank accounts on May 8, 2023.

The court was informed on Monday that five banks, Cooperative, NCBA, Equity, KCB, and HFC, had complied with the ruling authorizing inquiries into the preacher's numerous accounts.

While being cross-examined by Lawyer Danstan Omari, Inspector Martin Munene told the court that none of the bank accounts is in the name of Pastor Ezekiel, based on the documents received. Instead, all accounts were for the church or the school.

Pastor Ezekiel can now access his accounts after a court-ordered 15-day limit has expired.

Previously, the DCI had urged the court to prolong the orders freezing the accounts so Safaricom could comply with the demands.

"The applicant cannot complete investigations in the absence of information sought from the 6th respondent-Safaricom," the court was told.
