According to a source close to the pair, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sánchez are engaged.
No further information about the proposal or the upcoming wedding arrangements was available then.
Bezos and Sánchez, a former broadcast journalist turned philanthropist, made their relationship public in 2019. Outside of being photographed at various events, Bezos and Sánchez have kept details of their lives together mostly private since they began dating.
In 2022, the pair gave their first joint sit-down interview to CNN at their Washington, DC home, where they discussed their charitable work toward deliberately donating Bezos' huge money to several causes.
Regarding philanthropic work, Sánchez told CNN that they make "really great teammates" but can also be "kind of boring."
Bezos called the Emmy-winning journalist "the most generous, most big-hearted person you would ever meet," calling her "an inspiration."
The billionaire is also the founder of Blue Origin, and he rode aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket on a 2021 voyage into space and back.
Sánchez, a former helicopter pilot, told CNN that she also intends to travel to space in the coming years and that she will be accompanied by "a great group of females."
Bezos previously married for 25 years to MacKenzie Scott, with whom he has four children. Sánchez has three children from prior marriages and was married for 13 years to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell before their divorce in 2019.
