According to Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, President William Ruto's government has been an eye-opener for Kenyans.
Onyoka stated on Tuesday, citing the many taxes proposed in the disputed Finance measure, 2023, that despite the outcry, the measure is extremely likely to pass through parliament due to the numbers Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance possesses in the House.
The senator said on the Citizen tv show that the law will help Kenyans comprehend the ramifications of Kenya Kwanza's agenda and draw lessons for future elections.

Onyonka said Nothing would happen to stop the bill from passing because the Kenya Kwanza team has the majority, and the president is watching to see everything pass.
"The president had a manifesto, and the joke in the opposition is that we wish Kenyans would give Ruto what he wants; Kenyans are complaining, but they elected him." Allow him to raise the tax to 100%; Kenyans must understand that their actions have repercussions." he added
According to the senator, Kenyans would evaluate presidential candidates before voting to thoroughly examine their agendas and how they affect the cost of living.
The senator said that Kenyans will now look at a candidate's manifesto when voting to understand what it says to avoid voting for what they don't understand and that kenyans deserve what president ruto is doing to them.
