Former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has taken the oath of office as the new Director General of the National Intelligence Service at the State House.
He replaces Major-General (Rtd) Philip Wachira Kameru, who has held the position for over eight years.
The outgoing spy chief, Kameru, was appointed Director-General in September 2014 after an illustrious military career, having risen to Director of Military Intelligence in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
Haji worked as the National Intelligence Service's Deputy Director of the Counter Organised Crime Unit before to becoming the DPP.

After six years as the DPP, he returns to the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
