DJ Evolve, who was reportedly shot by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino in a Nairobi bar in 2020, has now testified in court that he did not observe the legislator with a pistol on the day in question.

DJ Evolve, Felix Orinda, testified as a defence witness in a firearms usage lawsuit against the Embakasi MP on Thursday.

The DJ testified virtually from his bed, saying he had no idea what happened to him because he only found himself in an ambulance.

However, before the Nairobi court, he admitted that he was shot and injured by a bullet on that fateful day, but he had no idea from which gun.

The comedian said that Babu Owino is a buddy and has helped him pay his hospital costs, among other things.

"Did you happen to see Babu Owino with a gun?" Defence counsel Duncan Okatch questioned DJ Evolve, who responded, "No, we were just having conversations."

"A bullet injured me, but I don't know from which gun," he continued. I just got into a car to go to the hospital...I discovered that Babu Owino was assisting me, and as a friend, I expected him to take care of me.

He stated on Thursday last week that these include a Ksh.17 million apartment in Kilimani, Ksh.23 million in medical treatments, Ksh.70,000 in monthly upkeep, and other expenses.
