Denis Okari, an investigative journalist, has revealed that he battled suicidal thoughts after his divorce and considered crashing his car.

Okari discussed his prior marriage with TV presenter Betty Kyallo, their subsequent divorce, and the toll it took on him during Rev. Kathy Kiuna's Daughters of Zion event.

The former TV news presenter claimed that his divorce from Betty was so painful that he considered suicide to escape the pain.

He went on to say that At one time, he was driving on Mombasa Road, and he thought of crashing his car so that he slides into a comma and wake up when everything was over.

Okari went on to express his humiliation about the divorce, claiming that as the firstborn in his family, he couldn't explain why he was divorcing when everyone looked up to him.

He stated that he was fighting multiple private and public fights and spiritually. He remained silent but was enraged and eventually sought peace in God. 

Okari and Betty had a kid together. They divorced, and Okari remarried, becoming closer to the church and God than ever before.

The cause of the divorce has been speculated over the years, with infidelity being brought up. Both parties have denied these claims.
