Despite the Senate's recent reprieve from impeachment, ODM party officials in Alego/Usonga constituency have maintained that Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol is not one of their own. They want him to step down.
The officials, led by ODM party Alego/Usonga branch Vice-chairman Thomas Okoth Rondo, contended that they could not work together given the issues between Mr Oduol and his boss Governor James Orengo.
He claimed that the deputy governor had shown "total disrespect" to his supervisor, so they dismissed him from the party, underlining that their attitude had not changed.
They spoke at Siaya town, where the ODM party's North Alego Ward chairman Michael Otieno and the Women League branch organizing secretary Seline Oyoo asked Mr Oduol to leave because of his strained relationships with many individuals.

The Organizing Secretary of the ODM party's Alego/Usonga branch, Paul Jura, stated that the move by Kenya Kwanza Senators to save Mr Oduol from impeachment even after the 11-member special committee upheld the Siaya County Assembly's recommendation to impeach him was a clear indication that he had not been loyal.
Jura declared that they had abandoned him and would no longer count him as one of them because he decided to serve the interests of ODM party opponents, thus starting the conflict.
He worried how the deputy governor would execute his job when his relationships with everyone, including the governor, MCAs, and even the party, were shattered.
Jura encouraged Governor Orengo to consider delegating the duties he would like to delegate to his deputy.
