Jared Okello, a Nyando Member of Parliament, has stated that President William Ruto is attempting to manipulate the bipartisan discussions between the Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza coalitions.

On Citizen TV's Daybreak on Thursday, the MP said that the talks had been hampered by "despots" who have stymied efforts to reach an agreement between the two sides.

He insisted, however, that despite Ruto's apparent involvement, Kenya Kwanza MPs should be subjected to discussion.

He said that Despots never want dialogue, and they have seen it there, and it's time to bring kenyans to the table and make them part of the dialogue.

He added that When they batched the seven-member panel from either party, they thought these were independent minds who would prosecute matters before them independently and objectively. He alleged that Khalwale said that the kenya kwanza side is controlled by ruto, so things are not moving forward in the talks.

He further alleged that the Azimio side withdrew from the talks because they could not stand a remotely biased selection panel.

The legislator also addressed the issue of opening the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) presidential election servers, which is a crucial point in the bipartisan talks, noting that the Azimio selection panel has constitutional rights to demand the servers.

He claimed that the IEBC's refusal to release information on the servers violated Article 35 of the Constitution, which states that citizens have the right to inquire about data held by the state for three years.

The MP also claimed that Azimio is still inside the three years and expressed frustration, implying that the president has power over the IEBC to suppress information.

Kenya Kwanza has argued that the servers should be retained, explaining that a legally interim remedy is in place to keep the data safe until August 15, 2025.
