Biem, a student pursuing his studies at Daystar University, was also an aspiring businessman, owning a business in close proximity to the institution. This unfortunate event has profoundly impacted the university community and his grieving family.

In a harrowing incident, Biem Mabek Lang was tragically shot at his liquor store near the Athi River Campus of Daystar University. The 28-year-old fell victim to a brutal attack when masked individuals opened fire, resulting in his untimely death. The body of Biem arrived in Juba at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2023. The victim, Biem Mabek Lang, was the son to the late Miabek Lang, a former deputy governor in the now-defunct Unity State.
