In a new survey by Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA), 40% of Kenyans feel there is no ‘Best-Performing’ Cabinet Secretary in President William Ruto’s cabinet.

1,530 respondents were interviewed between June 24 and June 30, 2023.

“Another four-in-ten (40%) feel that no such senior official is “the best performing,” read the report.

However, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has been ranked the best performing at 34 per cent, followed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu at 7 per cent and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha at 6 per cent.

“At least one-third of Kenyans mention Kindiki Kithure as the best performing Cabinet Secretary,” read the report.

Further, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and Roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen followed at 3 per cent and 2 per cent respectively.

The nine areas represented in the sample were Central Rift, Coast, Lower Eastern, Mt. Kenya, Nairobi, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift, and Western.

Respondents whose contacts were gathered through earlier face-to-face interactions were interviewed over the phone.
