Azimio leader Raila Odinga of the ODM party and other Azimio leaders aligned with him have had their security detail withdrawn. A police source indicated that this decision was made in connection with the Opposition leader's scheduled mass demonstrations.

Among those affected by the withdrawal of security detail are Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, four governors, and more than 50 Azimio MPs.

Raila Odinga has made a call for three days of anti-government protests, scheduled from Wednesday to Friday. These demonstrations, which he believes will be significant game-changers, aim to exert pressure on the Kenya Kwanza government to address the rising cost of living in the country.

Odinga expressed concern on Sunday about claims that the government is plotting to harm the Azimio leaders when they lead the demonstrations this week.

"Be ready for the game-changing maandamano beginning Wednesday," Odinga tweeted Monday evening. Tumechoka."

Ahead of the upcoming countrywide three-day mass demonstrations, the security of prominent figures including Gladys Wanga of Homa Bay, James Orengo of Siaya, Prof. Anyang Nyong'o of Kisumu, and Ochilo Ayacko of Migori has been directed to report to Kisumu.

Opiyo Wandayi, the minority leader, informed Citizen TV that over 50 MPs who are aligned with Azimio were also affected as their security was withdrawn, and they were ordered to report to Parliament Police Station.
