On Monday, a tragic incident occurred near Warsaw, where a small plane crashed into a hangar at an airfield, resulting in the loss of five lives, as confirmed by officials.

According to rescuers, the plane had three individuals on board when it collided with a corrugated iron hangar. At that time, 13 people sought shelter inside the hangar to escape from a storm.

“Five people died and eight others were injured, two of them seriously,” said Warsaw police spokesman Sylwester Marczak, adding that the pilot was among the dead.


The aircraft came down at a small airport known for parachute jump training in the village of Chrcynno, which is located 29 miles (47 kilometers) outside of Warsaw.

The Cessna airplane was modified to accommodate parachutists. The local fire department shared a picture of the plane's tail poking out of the hangar on Facebook.
