Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has at last been given freedom. The favorable bail conditions demanded by his legal team have been granted by the Milimani Court magistrate in charge of his case. According to the court's ruling from Friday morning, Babu Owino has been freed on a Ksh 200,000 cash bail.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina stated in his decision that the prosecution's allegations that the accused would have impeded witnesses were mere smears.

"One of the reasons advanced by the prosecution is that they are likely to interfere with witnesses. However, there is no indication of which accused person will interfere with a specific witness. The prosecution has not established reasons for the denial of bail," he stated

Both MP Babu Owino and Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho, ardent supporters of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, were finally brought before Milimani Law courts.

On Tuesday night, about 8:00 pm, Owino was taken into custody at JKIA. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) allegedly apprehended him.

It was revealed on Thursday night that the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East needed to be transferred to Nairobi Hospital.

His lawyer stated that Babu Owino was denied access to his medications by the police when he was being remanded in custody on Thursday when he appeared before Milimani Law courts.
