In an earlier report, citizen tv had confirmed that number of vehicles belonging to foreign dignitaries were seen entering the wiper leaders' Karen residence in the afternoon. The officials came from the United Nations, the European Union, the United States, and Denmark.

Azimio la Umoja leader has maintained that he has not met with diplomats either and has just been sick and kept off public engagements and all meetings.

"I have therefore held no meeting with any envoys as reported by some media outlets," said Odinga.

This alleged meeting comes a few days after foreign dignitaries in the country called for an end to the anti-government protests organised by the opposition. In their statement, the group of diplomats from the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and nine other countries said the protests were destroying properties and losing lives.

“We are saddened by the loss of life and concerned by high levels of violence, including the use of live rounds and the destruction of property, during the recent demonstrations,” reads the statement.

“We recognise the daily hardship faced by many Kenyans and urge all parties to table their concerns through a meaningful dialogue and resolve their differences peacefully to build the nation together, ensuring no further loss of life.” it adds.
