Embakasi East member of parliament has come out guns blazing, telling the First and second lady to focus their prayers on their husbands and not kenyans.

In a viral video, the embakasi east member of parliament said that President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are the problem and that their wives should be praying for them because the problem is in the house.

Babu Owino, who was recording the video in an undisclosed location after being released from custody, said that kenyans are suffering because the cost of living is very high. He added that kenyans are going to bed hungry because they cannot afford to buy food or provide for their families.

The Embakasi East MP was arrested last week before the beginning of the three days maandamano organised by the opposition. He was kept in an undisclosed location for two days, then released, only to be rearrested shortly after.

His wife had to plead with Azimio's leadership to help seek her husband's release.

"My plea to Azimio leaders, Raila Odinga, please do whatever you can to help my husband be free... to the government....you are the ones holding him illegally." All I want is to feed my spouse and check on him to ensure he's safe."

The opposition has announced that it will resume anti-government protests against the high cost of living on Wednesday.

During a Saturday press conference at the SKM Command Centre, Azimio leaders said the protests will be peaceful.

Usawa Kwa Wote Party leader Mwangi wa Iria said the opposition is unwilling to engage the Kenya Kwanza government, adding that atrocities had been meted out on some citizens.

On his part, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka confirmed meeting the "American British, Danish and UN representatives and ambasadors came to my residence but we agreed not to talk to the media."
