Nominated senator for nairobi county Karen Nyamu has declared herself the senator for nairobi county claiming Sifuna is busy with maandamano.

Speaking during a wildlife event held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, Nyamu said that she had been forced to take over the roles that were supposed to be performed by senator sifuna because he has been busy spearheading the anti-government protests.

"We elected a senator who is busy with maandamano so I have taken over the job that he was elected to do cause he should be in such a critical occassion right?" she posed.

After President William Ruto won the presidential election, the controversial senator was recently nominated as a senator in the 2022 General Election.

Nyamu had stood down to allow Bishop Margaret Wanjir to represent the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the Nairobi Senate seat.

On the other hand, Wanjiru was defeated by Edwin Sifuna of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Kenyans were unhappy with this statement and called out the nominated senator for forcefully trying to take over nairobi.
