A woman, Agripina Mulupi, in Lurambi, Kakamega County, has sent away her lover after her husband returned home after disappearing for seventeen years.
According to Citizen Digital, the 42-year-old Boniface Moi Muyeshi showed up unannounced after leaving in 2006.
"I had to send my current lover away as the man of the house had made a return. We will make plans on how to co-parent," Mulupi said.
Locals broke into dance upon his return to welcome him home. Mulupi stated that she had to raise their three children alone.
"I settled down with someone else as I was not able to raise these children on my own," Agripina added.
A prayer session preceded a cleansing ceremony, and the prodigal son was reunited with his kin.
However, His joy was short-lived after he was informed that his wife had a child with another man.
"We suspected that he had died during the 2007/2008 post election skirmishes," his relative Fredrick Witumbele said.
The family traditionally welcomed their son, slaughtering a ram in the process.
