On Thursday, a man rammed his car into pedestrians before going on a stabbing rampage outside a metro station in Seongnam City, just south of Seoul.
According to a Facebook post by Gyeonggi Province government member Lee Ki-in, nine people were stabbed at the scene, and five more were injured after the suspect crashed a car into the pedestrian walkway before the knife attack.
According to Gyeonggi-do Fire Services, 12 14 victims are critically hurt, while two have minor injuries.

According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the suspect was apprehended 10 minutes after submitting incident reports.
One person was killed a few days ago, and several others were injured in another stabbing attack in Seoul. Such instances, however, are uncommon in South Korea, where violent crime is low.
