Three people died on Saturday evening in a fatal accident at the Murup area along the Kambinye-Kargi Road in Marsabit County.

According to Kargi Member of County Assembly(MCA), Chris Ogom more than 30 other people were injured and rushed to various health institutions in the county.

“Many people are nursing various fractures on their body, we might refer others and need enough blood to save their lives,” said Ogom.

Further, Ogom confirmed that more 100 people were on board the lorry involved in the accident.

According to reports, the unfortunate truck's driver lost control, causing it to spin and dump its occupants outside.

The lorry was transporting passengers from Hulahula to Kargi for a wedding celebration, according to the local MCA.

In order to transport the injured to hospitals, locals, ASTU, and police offered backup assistance.

Nobert Komora, a Marsabit county commissioner, told the local media that the rescue effort is still ongoing and that a detailed statement will be released later.
