Mercy Tarus, an Uasin Gishu graduate, has imposed restrictions on Senator Ledama Ole Kina before accepting a position in his office.

Mercy Tarus was offered a job by Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina yesterday after she spoke out against Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and Senator Jackson Mandago over the bungled student airlift scheme.

Ole Kina stated that Tarus had inspired him and that he would like to hire her.

Mercy Tarus, I would like you to work for me… speak your heart …the future belongs to candid youth! Let's talk," Senator Ledama said.

Mercy responded by asking Senator Ledama Ole Kina to speak with his colleague's leaders on bringing Uasin Gishu leaders to justice and refunding the money to Kenyan citizens.

"Mr. Ledama, before we can further this conversation, Talk to your fellow senators to bring the Uasin Gishu County Government to book and compel them to refund rightfully hard-earned money to the Citizens of Kenya. Maybe then, we can talk. Otherwise, I have nothing more to say."

Mercy Tarus, a Kabarak University graduate, made national headlines after confronting Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, his deputy John Barorot, and Senator Jackson Mandago about the Uasin Gishu education airlift program.

Over Ksh800 million was collected from parents through the scholarship program during the Fiscal Year 2021/22 to finance their higher studies in Finland and Canada.

Successful candidates were guaranteed future employment prospects after completing their education abroad under an arrangement with the Uasin Gishu County Government.

Beneficiaries' parents were instructed to pay the requisite fees through a county government account.
