President William Ruto will on Wednesday open the 10th devolution conference at the Eldoret Sports Grounds in Uasin Gishu County.
The three-day conference, attended by leaders from all 47 counties in the country, will focus on recognising the progress made in the ten years since devolution was introduced.
Some governors have commended devolution, stating that it has been essential in providing services to the public, and have asked the federal government to keep sending monies to devolved governments on schedule so that they can do their jobs correctly.
Similar to this, a few inhabitants of Uasin Gishu County have shown their appreciation for the devolved governments, claiming that they have made it possible to offer services closer to the people.
A tree-planting exercise will kick off this year's conference, which has the subject "10 Years of Devolution; The Present and the Future," in keeping with Kenya's objective of planting 15 billion trees by 2023.
