Pauline Njoroge, a prominent ally of Jubilee, has expressed her displeasure over what she claims to be the detectives' non-compliance with a recent court order to return priceless equipment, including phones and laptops.
"The DCI has been looking for all manner of excuses not to return my phone and laptop. On Friday they were required to do so after the court session and I authorized my lawyer to receive the items from DCIO Watamu. But the DCIO said he could only hand over those things to me in person, and insisisted it had to be on that day since from Saturday (yesterday) he was proceeding on a two week’s leave. Of course it was not possible for me to go to Watamu on such a short notice so, they found excuse to keep my gadgets for another 2 weeks.
These people have been unable to charge me even after retaining my gadgets from 22nd July. You wonder why they are still holding on to them. What exactly do they expect to find?" wondered Pauline.
The outspoken politician complained in a Facebook post that despite a court order directing the investigators to surrender her phone and laptop, they did not do so, claiming her absence from the court proceedings as their justification.
Pauline Njoroge has questioned what the detectives plan to do with her tools and why they are disobeying court orders.
On social media, Kenyans shared a range of opinions and viewpoints about the incident. Some netizens urged Pauline Njoroge to give detectives time to finish their investigations.
