Kenya will assist TikTok, a short-form video hosting service, in vetting and overseeing its content.

According to President William Ruto, the action would ensure that the platform's material follows established rules.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew pledged to ensure that content is controlled to adhere to community standards during a virtual meeting with President Ruto on Thursday morning.

As a result of this recent development, offensive or improper content will be removed from the platform.

During the meeting, Mr. Chew also committed to establishing a Kenyan Office to manage the company's activities across the continent.

The platform would employ more Kenyans, he promised.
