Former United States President Donald Trump has been arrested over an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, and his mugshot taken.

According to CNN, Trump surrendered at the Fulton County jail on more than a dozen charges stemming from his efforts to reverse Georgia’s 2020 election results.

This is the fourth time the billionaire has faced criminal charges.

Trump spent over 20 minutes at the Fulton County jail, where he was processed and released on bond.

His 6-foot 3-inch height, 215-pound weight, blue eyes, and blond or strawberry hair were all listed in jail records. His reservation ID was P01135809.

Soon after Trump was freed from jail, his mug shot was made public.

With his surrender in Georgia, Trump has now handed himself into local or federal authorities four times this year after being charged with a crime, an occurrence that had never occurred in the US before 2023.

On Thursday, the scene of Trump traveling to be detained while dismissing the accusations against him as politically motivated was repeated, but that didn't change the remarkable and unprecedented circumstance of a former president - and the front-runner for the GOP nomination for the presidency in 2024 - being indicted on criminal charges.

Trump called being at the jail a “terrible” and “very sad” experience in an interview later Thursday with Newsmax, adding: “In my whole life I didn’t know anything about indictments and now I’ve been indicted like four times.”
