The National Assembly's Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security will visit the Department of Immigration at Nyayo House on Monday to gather information.
Committee members will request access to the Department's capacity to process passports in the face of increased demand.
MPs will also want to know if any safeguards have been implemented to ensure that passport applications, processing, and issuance are transparent, secure, and corruption-free.
They will also investigate how the Department handles complaints from members of the public.
"The committee will then address the press on their findings," according to a press invitation from the committee.

On September 1, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki stated that the administration was dedicated to resolving the Department's backlog and streamlining services moving forward.
According to the CS, more personnel had been stationed to help clear the backlog of passport applications.
Kindiki stated that passport applicants will obtain their documents within a week.
"We are working to ensure that applicants receive their passports within a week, and if it is an emergency, we plan to have them within 24 hours," he said.
Kindiki stated that a specific counter has been installed for expecting and breastfeeding moms, who are not meant to wait in line for an extended time.
The CS stated that a government allocation of Sh1.3 billion will be used to expand activities at the Immigration Department.
