President William Ruto has left for Tanzania to attend the Africa Food Systems Summit.
According to a statement issued by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed on Tuesday, Ruto would join his colleagues at the 13th meeting to discuss food security issues on the African continent.
The event will also highlight sustainability and innovation in agriculture, which President Samia Suluhu will host.
According to the Summit schedule, the event began on September 5 and will conclude on Friday, September 8.

"The Africa Food Systems Forum brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, and representatives from various sectors of the food industry," according to the Summit agenda.
"Partnerships and Networking" The forum provides a one-of-a-kind venue for CEOs to develop meaningful contacts and collaborations in the food and agriculture sectors."
Whether Ruto will return today or after the Summit concludes is still uncertain.
According to reports, Ruto would hold a roundtable conversation with Suluhu, President Macky Sall (Senegal), and Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi) at 5 p.m.
He will join other presidents at State House Tanzania for a gala supper.
Ruto will be joined as a guest speaker at the Summit by other renowned Kenyans, such as Kirinyaga Anne Waiguru and Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange.
Ruto's travel to Tanzania comes just a day after he hosted the Africa Climate Summit at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) for over 14 leaders.
Over 16,000 foreign delegates, including diplomats from the United Nations (UN) and Europe, attended the Africa Climate Summit, which began on September 4.
