On July 3, in Ebuyalu village, Vihiga County, a brutal murder took place as a businessman was tragically killed in cold blood while closing his business. Following the incident, three suspects have been apprehended by authorities.

At approximately 10 pm, Ibrahim Ondeko, 27, along with his wife, had recently shuttered their shop. Suddenly, and without warning, a gang of assailants wielding machetes attacked them, claiming Ibrahim's life on the spot.

The wife, fortunate to escape with her life albeit sustaining a severe injury to her left hand, which was perilously close to being severed, recounted that the attack occurred during a heavy downpour. The five assailants had concealed their identities with balaclavas.

“We had just closed our shop and were headed home when the men who had their faces covered attacked us. One of them came after me with a machete and as I shielded myself, he struck my left arm almost dismembering it,” said the 23-year-old woman.

The woman fled desperately and took cover in the pouring rain, where she came across police officers on patrol. Unfortunately, they found the robbers had already left the scene when they arrived, leaving behind the deceased's motionless body, which was encircled by a shivering pool of blood.

Detectives from the renowned Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau were called in after the terrible death of the businessman sparked a thorough investigation. They started looking for the suspects thoroughly right away.

After thoroughly examining the crime scene and interviewing witnesses, law enforcement officers apprehended three suspects - Ibra Amos (23), Dickson Munala (28), and Sypros Omondi. Their arrests took place yesterday within Yala Township, Siaya County.

These individuals, discovered in possession of some of the victim's personal belongings, are slated to face charges of murder under section 203, in conjunction with section 204 of the penal code.
