Ekuru Aukot, the leader of the Thirdway Alliance Kenya party, believes that Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi is the official opposition leader and not ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

According to Aukot, the constitution only technically recognizes the minority leader in parliament as the official leader of the opposition.

During a citizen TV show, the third-way alliance leader said In this country, they need to correct some anomalies because Opiyo Wandayi is the official opposition leader because he is the minority leader in Parliament, and that is what the constitution intended.

He said that the oddity is one of many constitutional infractions that have diverted the nation's administrative tasks to bush-league affairs.

Aukot noted that politicians have inadvertently created the wrong political narrative, focusing solely on Raila and President William Ruto while disregarding their key objectives.

"Kenya Kwanza is going back to 2022 instead of governing and administering this country, and the opposition side is failing because of what motion the opposition has brought to the floor of parliament." We don't see any debates, but that is the forum. Therefore, all we see are sideshows."

He also questioned the legality of Musalia Mudavadi's appointment as Prime Cabinet Secretary, claiming that his responsibilities were similar to those of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

"If you look at the constitution, the powers of the president and the duties of the Deputy President is exactly what they are describing Musalia Mudavadi as," he remarked.

"Rigathi Gachagua is actually the President's principal assistant, and some of these things can be done administratively; you don't need to justify a position constitutionally."

The post's introduction has prompted conflict between the opposition and the administration, with the opposition now demanding the creation of an office of the Leader of the Official Opposition.
