Kajiado, Central Member of Parliament (MP) Elijah Kanchory, has dared the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to expel him for collaborating with President William Ruto.
Kanchory’s remarks come amidst disciplinary actions against ODM members who have associated themselves with the government.
The MP affirmed that the recent issuance of warning letters to party members for their government affiliations directly violates the principles of democracy that allow for freedom of association.
Kanchory emphasized that political allegiances should not be a basis for party sanctions.
"2022 politics is behind us. Na mambo ni matau hii kenya .Ujipange ama upangwe. Si ni kweli. Uogoze, ama uogozwe. Uamue au uamuliwe. Na sisi hatutaki kupangwa, tunajipanga .Hatutaki kuogozwa tunajiogoza, hatutaki kuamuliwa, tunajiamulia,” he said.

Further, he expressed his dissatisfaction with his experiences in the party, saying that despite his multiple electoral victories, he has yet to be allowed to lead any parliamentary committee, leaving him frustrated as he questioned the party's commitment to empowering its members.
He challenged the party leadership to reconsider their stance on expelling members.
Kanchory asserted that he was ready to return to the people if the party decided to take disciplinary action against him.
